ACROBATICS

WHAT IS ACROBATICS?

Acrobatics includes tumbling, contortion and hand balancing. It can be performed solo or in groups. If you’ve ever watched a cheerleader do a flip in the air or a no-handed cartwheel, you’ve seen acrobatics.

Where can I learn to be an acrobat in Middle Tennessee?

Acrobatics requires strength, flexibility and excellent body awareness. Start by taking gymnastics and dance classes and then find an acrobatic coach to help you achieve your goals. As with other Circus activities, there is inherent risk and potential for injury or worse. Remeber to follow safe practices. Train under qualified supervision with a spotter. Always warm up properly. Practice on appropriate safety mats and use proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
